The song is about keeping your head up and focusing on bigger and brighter days ahead when kicked down. “Kickin’ Up Stardust” is the first song of mine that I co-wrote to be fully recorded and released. I am beyond proud of what we have created and cannot wait to share it with the world. Stardust is a feel-good song about picking yourself up and taking the bull by its horns,” shared Sofia Claire.
“Michael Wilkes and I had both done a bit of background research on Sofia and knew she was a California girl with strong country roots. Since her look and sound were on the more elegant, classy side of Country, we started preliminary work on Michael’s title “Kickin’ Up Stardust.” Sofia arrived and all of us knew right away it was just right for her. Her vocal fit the melody and the groove perfectly and she added all the right touches of feminine metaphor so that we could almost see the video as we wrote the song,” shared co-writer Steve Bogard.
