From a home with black-eyed peas to an El Paso bar serving alcohol, it’s the Millennial and Gen Z version of abusive spouse meets unforeseen circumstances of female heroine! In her second song release off of her upcoming album, Corazón y Cabeza (Heart and Head), which will be released on August 26th, 2022. Bri Bagwell gives us a vision of a beautiful unsuspecting heroine who saves Hermosa Josefina from an abusive relationship. I couldn’t write the scene any better than to imagine the local Vaquera (female cowboy) as the heroine who stops by for a drink and helps save Josefina.
The single itself was inspired by a helping hand’s genuine generosity. The owners of Rosa’s Cantina in El Paso Texas offered a helping hand to Bri multiple times when her tour van broke down, and so Bri repaid them by putting Rosa’s in a song.
