How would you describe your sound to a first-me listener?
To a first me listener my music may be hard to describe, because I’m in and out of country pop and country rock, it’s very much storytelling & I don’t like to stick to a “rule” per say as there are no rules in music, but the basis of my music is definitely country.
If you could only point a listener to one of your songs, which would it be?
The first song I released was MODERN GIRL. It basically tells a story of what I want to achieve, but if I had to pick one song It would have been my latest song RED! it’s my best one yet I’m so proud of it. My wring has matured along with my voice and I am hoping it’s a song that people can party too, enjoy & some will relate to.
How long have you been making music?
I’ve been writing songs since high school, but only started releasing music in September 2021 – But music has been in my life since I can remember.
What first inspired you to pursue music?
My family is a music-oriented family, I grew up with music all around me, songs, musicals and movies so that definitely had an effect, but as soon as I could speak, I just had this burning passion to sing. Hearing my mum & nana sing definitely helped push me in that direction too and as I got older my inspiration was being able to get my thoughts & feelings down on paper into a song
What do you want your listeners to get out of your music?
I want my listeners to be able to relate to my songs, I want them to be able to play a song of mine and make the song work for them! If that is to make them remember, be happy or reflect on a situation, I want listeners to use my music as a safe space too knowing that we all have ups & downs and it’s how we move on with them that is key! I like to think my songs are very real & relatable., even if that’s just length your hair down and dance the emotions out for a while.
What are you currently working on?
I’m currently working on a few new songs, a whole range of tempos. We (my management team) are trying to create a great first album, which I keep changing the name of! I am also currently in the midst of creating a music video for I SW RED, which I’m so excited about
Give us some musical sheroes in your life…
My musical sheroes would be the legendary Dolly Parton, somehow, she always manages to remain current and interesting. Shania Twain, the country queen herself is just my absolute icon! I love lady gaga, she’s unique and does what SHE wants. I hope someday to be the lady gaga of country pop and Miley Cyrus, she can sing any and everything & I love her for that!
Where do you find inspiration from as a songwriter?
I definitely find inspiration from my personal experiences, even though some would say ‘you’re too young!’. I’ve been through quite a lot even though I’m only 17. I also try to remain current and see what’s relatable for myself & others at the me of wring. A lot of the me my ideas for songs come totally out of the blue and I’ll quickly start making notes on my phone so I don’t forget them.
We have to know all about your latest single
My latest single I SAW RED is a powerful song about being betrayed and then taking your revenge! It’ got an underlay of anger and real emotion. In my opinion a real song you can get stuck into and sing along to. There’re so many ways a person can relate to this song within a bad relationship or even friendship, we all know they can go horribly wrong at mess! It’s a total ‘banger’ and is available now to pre save as it comes out on January 13th and I am hoping for another chart topper – fingers crossed!
