County Pop Artist Jake Davey Releases Positive New Single From Hospital Rehab “Made”

Even amidst tough days, the presence of the person you love makes it all worthwhile.

Australian country artist, Jake Davey, has released his latest single whilst he continues to the battle of his life, with Made Out Now through indie country label, RTC Records.

A positive and upbeat pop country track, Made was co-written by Jake with Elysse Yulo and Michael August during a trip to Nashville in June. Drawing from his own personal experiences, Jake poured his heart and soul into the lyrics, making it an emotionally charged and relatable journey. (Little did he know then, what would await him a short time later).

Made boasts vocals enriched with punchy harmonies, and was co-produced by Davey, Yulo and Zacher (Spinlight Studio). The song is further embellished with distinct electric guitars, thundering drums, and acoustic elements, creating an anthem that urges you to roll your windows down and enjoy the ride.

“Made serves as a powerful reminder to embrace life’s ups and downs, with the assurance that everything will eventually fall into place,” says Jake.

Since Jake’s admission to hospital, the country music industry and wider community have rallied behind the young star, raising money via Go Fund Me, as well as announcing JakeFest, which will take place at the Great Lakes Paddocks on Sunday, November 19, with Chelsea Berman, Taylor Moss, Kylie Jane, Piper Rodrigues, Imogen Hall, Jack Hudson, Maddy Andrews and Jamie Preston, performing.

At this stage, it is unknown how long Jake will be in hospital (or if he’ll ever walk again) and, as you can imagine, this places Jake under extreme financial pressure, with his small business having come to a halt.

For 2 years, Jake has been dealing with a crippling condition known as Spinal Stenosis, which causes the narrowing of the spinal canal. This was affecting his ability to walk and do day to day activities due to the back pain and sciatica.

Around a month ago Jake’s condition worsened and became critical, with the pain hitting excruciating levels. His ability to walk without supports and heavy pain relief was taken away from him, and he then presented at John Hunter Hospital in Newcastle after not being able to take the pain any more. He was told that the only option was emergency back surgery. Unfortunately, the surgery ended up being far more complex than expected and went for much longer than originally planned by surgeons.

The nerves in Jake’s back are so severely damaged that he now cannot control his lower body, (this is called Cauda Equina).

Jake is now fighting to regain control in his lower body, which means that he has to learn to walk again. This is not only a physical battle, but a mental one as well requiring a lot of rehab and physical therapy.

NBN visited Jake in the hospital recently – you can see the news package here.
