THE SILVERLINE RELEASE THEIR FIRST INSTRUMENTAL COUNTRY SINGLE “ASHES IN THE WIND”

The Silverline’s new single is the nostalgic instrumental “Ashes in the Wind”, out now through indie country label, RTC Records.

Ashes in the Wind” was composed after the Sydney duo witnessed the aftermath of the 2020 Blue Mountains bushfires. Melancholic yet quietly hopeful, it captures the sorrow and the rebirth found following bushfire devastation – the silence, the quiet promise of new beginnings and the resilience of new life rising from the ashes.

“As we stood looking at the charred landscape across the mountains, the air was still tinged with smoke as we watched the ashes drift and scatter – like memories too fragile to hold. There were no words to describe the loss of homes, of wildlife, of moments that can’t be replaced — so we let the fiddle and guitar reflect those feelings in this instrumental. The melody is calm yet aching, shaped by grief, but it also carries a thread of resilience, because even in the blackened ground we could see the first hints of new life breaking through. This song became our way of honouring both the sorrow and the quiet hope that lingers after a bushfire.” – The Silverline

Produced by Simon Johnson, “Ashes in the Wind” unfolds like the land healing after fire, guiding the listener from devastation toward renewal, hope shimmering in every note. It features Johnson on bass, Brad Bergin on drums and guitar, Michael Lehnen on guitar, Luke Moller on fiddle, and Liam Kennedy-Clark on piano.
