Press Release February 8, 2022
“We are pushing country to the edge and embracing elements of our favorite pop artists,” says
Kayla and Kelli Iutzwig of Country-Pop duo, Wild Fire. The teen sisters are beginning their
seventh year as a duo and making a name for themselves in the Country scene. They are writing
deeply catchy and inspiring songs that are beyond their years and in the process, growing their
fan base substantially with over 240,000 followers on socials. Now with the release of their
upcoming song “Like Home,” Wild Fire is displaying their talents on an even grander scale.
Like Home is set to drop March 25th, and is very distinctive in that it was written with another
female country duo “Honey County” out of Nashville. Four independent, talented, hard-working
and determined females collaborated to create something very special and unique, with all four
females showcasing their vocals on the track. Like Home was produced by Nashville’s own Austin
Moorehead (guitarist for Carly Pearce).
Like Home is a song with deep meaning and storytelling that we all enjoy in country music. It
was written about a long-distance relationship that Kayla went through and the trials and
tribulations that come out of that experience. It all ends up being worth it when you get to hold
that special person in your arms. In this particular relationship, the guy was from a small Texas
town and was one of the star athletes at his high school. The lyrics convey the idea that long-distance relationships are a struggle. People really have to decide if they want to stay together
when they are hundreds or thousands of miles apart. Being apart can be very difficult, but
goodbyes are temporary as the lyrics point out. With hard work and perseverance, these
relationships can work out. When the timing is right, you can be together. Until that time, there
are little reminders to keep each other close such as pictures, clothing, places you have been
together and much more.
Wild Fire is not only making a name for themselves but is inspiring everyone in their path. Fun,
catchy, motivating and surprising, the girls may be young, but the message is clear; Wild Fire’s
overarching message for their listeners is – “for them to feel inspired, empowered and motivated
to be the best they can be. We want them to stand up for themselves and be comfortable in who
they are.” The critics agree. Linda Wilson, President of the Texas Country Music Association,
describes them as “one of the best up-and-coming young artist duos out there.” And following
their live appearance on “Great Day Houston” in 2020, KHOU-TV proclaimed, “Wild Fire are
setting the music world ablaze.”
Despite their young age, the singer-songwriters have already been appraised for their talent;
Winning “Female Vocalist of the Year” in the Young Adult Category at the Josie Music Awards,
receiving a songwriting award from the Texas Country Music Association, having their original
music placed in NBC’s Very Cavallari reality TV series and performing at some of the largest
venues in Texas, including the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo.
Wild Fire began their music career by joining musical theatre at the tender age of 5 and 6, but it
wasn’t until after placing as finalists in the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo’s “Rodeo
Rockstar” that they decided to bring their talents together and from Wild Fire. Taking professional
vocal lessons from top instructors, and co-writing with hit songwriters such as Shane Stevens and
Bonnie Baker, the girls have refined their craft and created their own, unique sound. “Like
Home” is set to release Friday, March 25th, and is only the beginning for these rising stars.
