Nashville, TN (November 27, 2023) – Part of the unabashed joy of the Christmas season comes from the old familiar carols and timeless classic favorites that we all love and cherish that come with this time of year, and vocalist Denise Parroco has recorded a new album of beloved holiday songs, CHRISTMASTIME, as a special gift to her grandchildren and fans around the world will be able to enjoy as well. The album is an 11-song treasury of seasonal favorites lovingly interpreted by Parroco, whose buttery smooth and soothing vocals go down like a warm cup of cocoa on a frosty winter’s night. From the joyous strains and fun of “Winter Wonderland” and “A Holly Jolly Christmas” to the quiet, introspective beauty of “What Child Is This” “Silent Night,” “Merry Christmas Darling,” and more, the album is packed full of those Christmastime carols and contemporary favorites we all sing along to all season long and adore. Parroco’s voice perfectly complements the lushly arranged tracks, and calls to mind the gorgeous vocals of 70’s songstress Karen Carpenter, who was taken from the world far too soon but left behind a legacy of pop tunes that are timeless and still leave us breathless. The gem-filled collection was produced by Denise’s husband Jim Parroco, with arrangements and orchestrations by Emmy-nominated composer Rob Pottorf.

Hailing from coastal Virginia, Parroco began her career performing in shows as a singer/dancer, including theme park productions at Kings Dominion and Kings Island as well as in Department of Defense Overseas Shows, where she entertained U.S. troops throughout the South Pacific and the Mediterranean. She recorded as a Contemporary Christian artist and released her first solo album, DON’T GIVE IN, on an independent label in 1992. After accepting a position as the Director of Music & Arts for New Life Christian Fellowship in Chesapeake, VA, she shifted her focus toward leading and directing worship for many years. During that time she and her husband also recorded and produced several worship and compilation albums, including projects with churches in Ghana and Belgium.
Parroco has always held a great love for jazz and standards, and has sung with several jazz bands through the years. She recently returned to her love of recording, and released EPs including EVERYTHING IS BEAUTIFUL (2020) and CARPENTERS TRIBUTE (2023). Her new holiday album CHRISTMASTIME is available now, and Parroco will be performing as a soloist with the Kentucky Symphony Orchestra in their 2023 Christmas production of “Merry Christmas Darling”.
